Company Background: VOSTOK company's story starts back in 1942, when one of the Moscow watch-making plants was evacuated to the town of Chistopol on the Kama River. During the war years, the company's output was solely focused on defense equipment, but after the war, VOSTOK began producing mechanical wrist watches, which have remained their main production item ever since.
In 1965, VOSTOK was appointed the official supplier of watches for the Defense Department of the Soviet Union, and this year marked the creation of the world-famous "Komandirskie" ("Commander") watch. The military watch grew very popular due to its high precision, excessive reliability, and durability, as well as its functional and clear-cut design.
The success of the professional watches led VOSTOK to develop the "Amphibian" line, an impressive timepiece in a stainless-steel case that can withstand depths of up to 200 meters, making it a true "wrist submarine."
